Contract drafting & review
Drafting or reviewing a contract before signature: obligations, deadlines, penalties and how a dispute gets resolved.
A good contract is not the longest one; it is the clearest. A reader can tell who owes what, by when, what follows from delay or breach, and where the parties go if they disagree.
The service covers drafting a new contract from the facts, reviewing a contract put in front of you before you sign it and pointing out where the risk sits, or amending an existing contract after circumstances change.
Contracts are reviewed from one clearly identified side: the client’s. A clause that is good for one party is often bad for the other, so the side is fixed first and the drafting is built on it.
What this service covers
- Drafting supply, services, construction, lease and partnership contracts

- No clause is drafted that breaches the law or is designed to mislead the other party

- First contact
- Scope and conflict check
- Agreement on service and fees
- Work begins
Questions about this service
It depends on the length and complexity of the contract and how many points need research. A time estimate is given after reading the draft, not before.
Sometimes. Sometimes the problem is the structure of the contract itself. The points are listed in order of financial impact, and the decision stays with the client.
It is never too late to work out your legal position, but the options after signature are narrower and more expensive. The contract and what has been performed are reviewed, then the options are set out.
The next step
A contract, a claim, or a dispute that needs a decision?
Send a short description of the matter and the documents that matter, and we will settle the type of service and the right route with you before anything begins. Sending a request does not mean an engagement has been accepted or that work has started.
